As a Painter, you prepare and finish surfaces to enhance and protect buildings and structures. You’ll apply paints, stains, and varnishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment to achieve a clean, professional finish.

Surface preparation is key, and may include sanding, filling, and priming to ensure long-lasting results. Painters may also hang wallpaper.

Whether working on new constructions or renovations, indoors or outdoors, Painters play a vital role in improving the appearance and durability of spaces.

A typical day may involve:

Constructing scaffolding and ladders and placing drop sheets to prevent paint splatter
Removing old paint and wallpaper, fixing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and sealing surfaces
Mixing paints to required colours
Cleaning equipment and work areas
Applying paint and decorative paint finishes
Use colours and creativity to design captivating spaces
