Experience
- Try-A-Trade
Ask if your school offers Try-A-Trade to get early exposure to a variety of trades and explore which one is right for you
- Literacy & Numeracy
Maths and English are important to continue. Consider advanced maths, if interested in electrical/engineering trades
- Work Experience
Gaining time on a construction site, will not only prepare you, but it will help you feel more confident
Pre-Qualification
While at school, talk to your VET Coordinator and enrol in one of the options below to get early exposure and hands-on experience.
- Certificate II Construction
If considering any trade
- Certificate II Plumbing
If considering plumbing or roof plumbing trades
- Certificate II Electrotechnology
If considering electrical, engineering or refrigeration trades

- Drivers Licence (P1 acceptable)
