As a Civil Construction Manager (also known as a Construction Project Manager), you coordinate and consult on work programs, tenders and bids, and oversee subcontractors.

You may work under a contract or as a subcontractor of specialised building services, leading teams to deliver complex civil infrastructure projects safely, on time and on budget.

A typical day may involve:

  • Interpreting architectural drawings and specifications

  • Negotiating with building owners, property developers and subcontractors involved in the construction process
  • Preparing tenders and contract bids
  • Coordinating work programs for building sites
  • Adhering to building legislation and standards of performance, quality, cost and safety
  • Submitting plans to local authorities for approval
  • Overseeing subcontractor work
  • Arranging building inspections by local authorities

  • Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours)
